About TamilNadu Engineering Admission TNEA
After abolition of Tamil Nadu Professional Colleges Entrance Examination in 2007, the admission to Engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu is conducted through Single Window Admissions by Anna University, Chennai. Admission to all engineering colleges (nearly 550, precisely 496) in Tamil Nadu will be done through TamilNadu Engineering Admissions TNEA by Anna University, Chennai.
For the Tamil Nadu students aspire to join engineering in Tamil Nadu should apply through TNEA. TNEA admissions will be purely based on the +2 qualifying examination. Based on your +2 marks, as well as the applications received by TNEA will be announcing the ranking of the students based on their Engineering Cut-off marks.

Preperations for TNEA Counselling
Students completed TamilNadu +2 Exams, can prepare the certificates required to them and ensure the certificates are readily available now.
Tamil Nadu Native candidates who have not studied any one of VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Standard or whole in Tamil Nadu needs to submit Nativity Certificate along with the application for TNEA. Download Nativity Certificate format.
First Graduate Tuition Fee Exemption
Tamil Nadu native candidates who are to be first graduate in a family, and joined in professional courses by attending counselling in Government or Govt. Aided or Self-Financing Engineering Colleges are eligible for First Graduate Fee Exemption. If the applicant’s brother or sister has already availed First Graduate Tuition Fee concession for studying Professional Courses, then the applicant is not eligible for such concession. Reservation of Quota
TNEA fills the Govt. quota seats of all Engineering colleges. In Govt. Engineering colleges 100%, In Govt. Aided Engineering colleges 90%, In Self financing/ Private Engineering colleges 65%, In private Minority colleges 50% seats are filled by TNEA.
