Tamil Nadu Architecture College Admissions (B.Arch)
Tamil Nadu Architecture
In Taminadu we dont have entrance examination for Engineering and Medical colleges, for Architecture college admission (B.Arch.) the students need to appear for National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA).
Separate Application Form will be issued from Anna University available on June 2013, the students whoever appeared for NATA only will be considered for admission. The total marks of +2 will be considered for ranking (not your MPC marks) and convert to 200 marks in addition to 200 marks of NATA.
Anna University release separate ranking based upon the above cut-off marks and they will be called for counseling.
Allocation of seats in colleges
- Seats in B. Arch. Degree Course in University Department of Anna University in the School of Architecture and Planning Campus.
- Seats in B.Arch. Degree Courses in Government Aided Engineering Colleges and seats surrendered by the Self-Financing Engineering Colleges.
- Seats in the Self Supporting Course in Govt. Aided Engineering College
- Seats surrendered by the Self Financing Engineering Colleges
Duration of the B.Arch Course
5 Academic Years comprising 10 Semesters.

Yes you have to apply separately for B.Arch in Tamilnadu Architecture admissions. For that your have to write NATA first.

When will the Architecture counselling in Tamil Nadu announced? Will only Anna university colleges come under architecture counselling? What about deemed universities like periyar maniamai university, Tanjore?
To study architecture in India you must write NATA. For anna University B.Arch counselling you have to apply with NATA score only. For deemed university also the procedure is same. So you can apply for NATA Exam first.

should we attend the nata exam Compulsory for B. Architecture. Cant we go through our cut off marks of appearing TamilNadu higher secondary examination?
We don’t have entrance examination for Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Sciences and Agriculture in Tamil Nadu. But we have entrance examination for Architecture and Law in Tamil Nadu. To join in any Government or Private Architecture schools in Tamil Nadu, the candidate should have appeared for NATA, that too well before they invited applications. The applications are expected after the results.

What cut off should I get to join good B.Arch colleges. ?
Every year the cut-off varies. It is better to have more than 325-340/400 NATA score to get good Arch schools in India. We do provide Architecture training at Chennai and guide the students to apply various reputed arch. Schools in India.

How to calculate cutoff marks for CBSE students since they are writing only for 500 marks when state board is 1200 marks? (subjectwise also different ; CBSE 5 subjects while State Board is 6 subjects)
CBSE board mark will be rounded of to 200. It is hard to consider all board/state cut-off. Maths is Mandatory subject for Architecture. Your board marks will be converted for 200 + NATA for 200 will be considered as cut-off marks for B.Arch cut-off in Tamil Nadu.
